Swarna Watch brings together the latest jewellery design trends, practical gold & silver coin buying guides, and daily precious-metal market rates — so you can shop smarter this festive season.
This shows the international spot price converted to INR — not the price you'll be quoted in India. See the note below for why they differ.
Gold is quoted per gram, silver per kilogram, and both update live during market hours — but this is the international spot price, not India's domestic retail rate. India currently levies a 15% import duty (10% customs + 5% agriculture cess, raised from 6% in May 2026) plus 3% GST on top of spot, which alone accounts for roughly 18% of the gap — before a jeweller's own margin and making charges are added. Silver in particular is trading at an even larger premium right now due to tight physical supply. Always check your local jeweller's quoted rate — see our guide to reading gold & silver rates for the full breakdown.
