Live rate information shown on this site — including the home page market watch and the value calculator — is sourced via a third-party widget (TradingView) and a third-party API (api.gold-api.com), and reflects the international spot price converted to INR — gold (₹ per gram) and silver (₹ per kg) — not your local jeweller's retail rate. This is a meaningful, not minor, difference: India currently levies a 15% import duty (10% customs + 5% agriculture cess, raised from 6% in May 2026) plus 3% GST on top of the spot price, together accounting for roughly 18% of the gap before a jeweller's own making charges and margin are added. Silver is currently trading at an even larger premium in India due to tight physical supply.
